After having a baby I realized that yes, I do have to take care of my body. HA! I guess that means my youth is over.
Drinking plenty of water.
You hear it over and over again. This year it is actually hitting home with me. Maybe it's all the nursing, but whatever the reason, I have found that I need to drink almost a gallon a day. My body just seems to function better when I've had lots of water.
Eating a balanced diet.
Due to some odd happenings with my health and my son's health, I decided to stop eating wheat until I'm done nursing. The first couple weeks after making this decision I missed out on eating the amount of grains I should have been eating. Although I didn't miss it or notice any real difference, when I finally started to eat other kinds of bread products and grains again I noticed a huge change. My body missed grains. From this experience I learned that no matter what people say, nothing beats a well balanced diet.
My biggest challenges in this area are
eating enough wholesome grains
and
eating enough fruits and veggies.
SLEEP, beautiful sleep
Another huge challenge in my life! Recently my son has been sick and teething. Last week he was waking up constantly in the middle of the night. Taking naps and sleeping in are no longer options for me to catch up on my zzz's so I'm left with the option of going to bed early. I don't like it, but I'm finding out that I need it.
When I'm not getting enough sleep things spiral out of control. The more sleep you get, the easier it is to stay asleep and fall asleep when you need it. Your mood and concentration also benefit greatly from sleep.
When I'm getting sleep and eating well, my days are more productive, I feel better and my mood and attitude towards others benefits.
Well, the challenge is on to take better care of my body.
Any tips for taking better care of my body so I can better serve others?
